Its been awhile...

It has been forever since I posted anything. This has been a busy summer. We spent the whole first half getting ready for our housewarming party, which was fantastic. It was another one of those times where I really wish we lived closer. It was fantastic to see everyone and everyone had a great weekend. Then Ryan and I took a few days and headed to CT and MA to visit. Today Corey had to work all day so we went to a small beach on Sebago Lake. Here are a few pics of the summer so far. I will get better at posting in the future. Ryan has had some really humdinger comments lately, but I forget them quicker than I can post them!

Conversation on the way to the airshow...

Background: Ryan is 3 1/2 years old and has done nothing but ask why for the last 2 months. He is driving both Corey and I a bit bonkers and we have begun to ask him why all the time in response.
Conversation: Ryan: What is that? Mommy: A vegetable garden. Ryan: Why? Mommy: So they can grow vegetables to eat. Ryan: Why? Mommy: It is cheaper than buying them at the grocery store. Ryan: Why? Mommy: When you get them at the grocery store they cost more because the vegetables have to travel and the farmers need to make a profit. It is also healthier. Ryan: Why? Mommy: Because they probably don't use pesticides. Ryan: Why? Mommy: Because they want their children to be healthy and their planet to be healthy. Ryan: Why? Mommy: Because they want their planet to be healthy for their grandkids. Ryan: Why? Mommy: Because we love you guys so much. Ryan: Why? Mommy: Because I carried you around for 9 months in my tummy and when you were born I fell in love with you! Ryan: Mommy, you can't eat me.

Ryan's Big Boy Bike

Ryan got a big boy bike today!

He needed a helping hand from Daddy to get going. He got the hang of it pretty quickly.
He did have his first spill though! But he walked his bike right out of the ditch and got back on.

4 days later...

Here is Ryan's shiner 4 days later. Most people say it looks way worse in person. He could care less. He is all done telling the story. If you ask him now he mutters something about a log as he runs away.

My first shiner!

This is what tripping on a pallet into a log while Daddy and Uncle Chris are splitting wood will do to you!

Three is EXASPERATING!

Quotes from the last few days.... 1.) "Mom, stop being obnoxious." 2.) "Dad said I could stay up and watch Backyardigans." "If I go up and ask him, will he tell me he said that or will he tell me you aren't being truthful." "Don't bother Dad, he is working." 3.) "Mom, I can't sleep because I miss you so much."
P.S. Here are some cute pics of Ryan in the car at the Drive-In. We went to see UP. I also have a few of Corey and Brandon painting our breezeway! FINALLY!

This past week...

We finally took Ryan fishing on Memorial Day. He was a little disappointed when he cast and reeled back in right away that there was no fish on his line. He told me fishing was a lot harder than he thought. We didn't catch anything but garbage, but we'll try again. We also headed down to OOB and hung out with Paul and Danielle. The water was so warm, Ryan went swimming in the ocean in Maine in May. It was fantastic to hang out with them and we have promised not to let so much time go by again. This past week was a short one thanks to Memorial Day and an in-service at work on Tuesday. Thank goodness, we needed it. Its fantastic that Friday came so fast. Tonight we had some friends over for good food, beer, and talk. Garrett fixed Corey's truck and got a sticker for my car. THANKS GARRETT! Nicole, Brandon, and their girls came to play. Alana slept and Monica kept Ryan entertained. I am looking forward to making Friday nights a tradition with Nicole and Brandon. Happy Weekend!

Ryan and Mommy's Day

We started by paddle boating around the pond;
Ryan expended a lot of concentration on the task!
Ryan and I decided to make the most of Daddy having to work overtime today. We headed down to York's Wild Kingdom for the first time. Its a zoo and amusement park right on the beach. Ryan was an angel from 10:30am until about 4:00 when the "I haven't had my nap" grouchies started to kick in. He was a trooper though!
Ryan and the boa!

Here is Ryan at the top of the ferris wheel and on the "sad horses." He said they missed their brothers.

Ryan was running out of steam and chilling with the tortoises.

Ryan began to get grouchy as we were heading out of the zoo. He got in the car and said, "Great Day, Mom!" He promptly passed out.
