Things are coming along.

We still have another week to get things done before we move in. We still need to polyurethane the floors, finish the molding in at least Ryan's room, put all the doors and baseboard heating back on, touch up paint, clean and prime the breezeway and the basements stairs and the spare room in the basement. However, you can already see a vast improvement. Leave comments and tell us what a great job we are doing!

A few firsts ...

Before...

Here are a few before pictures of our new home! I can't wait to take some pictures right before we move in to show you how much work we have done. Here is our kitchen with the ugly 1970s cabinetry and atrocious brick backsplash. You can also see the wood laminate half-wall that is already long gone! Here is our living room with the smoke-filled walls. Our moldy bathroom and tub that we have replaced. Ryan's dirty and smoky bedroom.

Funny Guy....

It has been a while since I posted anything because we have been crazy busy getting our new house ready to be lived in! I promise pictures at some point, but first I need to remember to buy new batteries for my camera. I do, however, have a cute and funny story. Last night Ryan and I went to pick up chinese food. The poor child hasn't had a solid meal in 3 weeks. Anyways, to keep him busy while we waited I was flipping him upside down off my lap. A woman walked in and Ryan began yelling to her.

"Watch this. Watch my Mommy upside down me!"

The woman walked past without even looking and he was very disappointed. I told him the she was a stranger and not only should he not be speaking to strangers, sometimes they don't want to be bothered. He thought about it for a moment and said,

"Flip me again."

The woman finished her order and walked back past us. My ridiculously adorable child then yelled,

"Hey, Stranger! Look at me!"
